First FHE

We had our first Family Home Evening lesson with Trevor this week. We taught him the word "temple." Here's how it went:

Song: If You're Happy and You Know It

Lesson: Show pictures of the temple, have him practice saying the word, "hide" pictures of temples around the room and have him find them (kind of like an Easter Egg hunt).

Treat: pudding cups!

Total time: 5 minutes, beautiful!

We ordered one of the new Nursery Manuals online to give us ideas and it was amazing! My favorite part is the coloring/activity page that goes with every lesson. Any other great FHE ideas?

That sounds like such a cute idea! I cant just imagine Trevor trying to find the pictures.

What a great idea! Just keep posting your FHE activities so I can steal them and use them for Noah when he's ready.

How fun! Brynlie loves home evening and every night asks if we can have it.. haha! I just started ordering "The Friend" and she loves all the pictures and stories in there. She has been asking a lot about missions so this week we got out Aaron's mission box and she loved looking through his mission pictures and then coloring pictures to send the missionaries. The new nursery manual is a good idea... I might have to order one!

We have started using the new nursery lessons for FHE, too. It is so easy and fun - Miriam loves the coloring pages, too.

I am going to start teaching Justin the Scripture Mastery as part of our FHE with Lizzy and base the lessons off of those. Justin never was in seminary and he is always asking how come I know so many scriptures. Maybe some of it will rub off on Lizzy.
I see your race is coming up are you nervous?
