Shopping for Double

With another baby on the way I've started looking at double jogging strollers but I haven't done a lot of research yet. Any brand recommendations or features you appreciate when running with two kids? Also if you've used a double jogger that you're not happy with, share that too! I'd like to buy a used stroller since they can be so expensive but maybe it's worth the cost in the long run...

Well, the best on the market is the BOB - and they are fabulous. My friend has one and it's totally awesome and probably worth the money. You could look for one that is used on ebay or elsewhere to cut down on the costs!

I have a friend who runs marathons and is due soon and she just got a stroller she calls "BOB." I guess that stands for something but she is already raving about it. Good luck! What are you having anyway?

First, tell Kai to get a blog. C'mon! :) We're trying to get in touch with him. Do you have his email?

Next, if you are going jogging with it (I assume you are) do NOT get one with a swivel wheel. Even one that locks or swivels. It is NOT for jogging. Get one with big tires (16") if you are really going running with it. I've heard Bob brand is awesome so if you could find a used one, go for it.

Mine is a Tike Tech Double Trouble. We love it. I like that each seat reclines separately and lays all the way flat so you can put a newborn in there. Other strollers don't lay flat, but you could use a head support and not run on rough terrain. It comes with an awesome rain cover, if you are that hard core. It's nice for the beach and Disneyland. It doesn't steer easily, so you have to pop up the front tire to steer (it's really easy, just takes some getting used to). My friend jogs with a locked swivel wheel and it does all sorts of crazy shaking things that scares her half to death.

Well, good luck. Try craigslist.org.

Ok since i don't run i don't have any recommendations but there is a YAHOO group that i am part of called Free Cycle. Its a bunch of people in your community that instead of throwing things away give them to others. Everything is free you just have to go and pick it up. Most people leave the stuff on thier porch. Anyways. I just got a free sit and stand double stroller from a really nice family so try and do a yahoo search for a freecycle group in your area. Its great!

I would be highly doubtfull that you will be able to contain Trevor in a stroller by the time his little sister comes around, it may happen but most likely he will be very independent by then. That's kinda the question you need to ask when you think about a jogging stoller.

If you do decide to get one make sure it folds down small and has a front wheel that moves. If its too big you wont end up using it as much.
