We spent our Spring Break at home this year installing sprinklers. I'm sure you know that the term "we" is very generous to myself. I should say that Birch spent his Spring Break installing sprinklers and Trevor and I were the cheerleaders. I actually did glue my share of PVC pipe but all of the digging/heavy equipment running was done by Birch.
Now, two months later, we finally have a green backyard! Even when we first rolled out the sod Trevor started crawling around, loving a soft play area. He also gets pretty excited about the sprinklers.

If you know the rules of new grass, you know that people and large pets have to stay off for three weeks. We decided that Trevor qualified as a small pet and watched him play from the sidelines.

Now that we've passed the three week mark and Birch allows us to legally walk on the grass, it's time to start mowing! We are officially a home-owning, Saturday morning lawn-mowing family.
P.S. Sorry about the writing squeezed between the pictures. I've tried to fix it but it's not cooperating!

Being the cheerleader is a very important part of the process, go ahead and pat yourself on the back too! Your lawn looks so great! It really is so nice to be able to run outside with the baby and have somewhere fun for them to play.
Oh, Camille-- I am DYING for my own grass right now! We are pretty much fed up with the place that we're in right now & look forward to our lease ending and us moving to a wonderful, above-ground place (that we haven't found yet, but will soon!). Your lawn looks great! I think it's awesome that you guys did the sprinklers yourself. It saves tons of dinero to be able to do the work, and it feels good too... later. :) And yes-- everyone needs a cheerleader. That's what I do best in our family.
oh my goodness girl!! It looks SO GOOD!! Wow! how pretty! haha!!
Ahh... I remeber the day we had grass that green... and in Tucson! Grass sure beats that rock doesn't it! Enjoy the new sod!
Your grass looks so green! That is one thing that I love about Michigan, everything is that green. I would love to get together, we won't have a car though so do you think you would be able to come out to the park in Cheshire? We will probably be spending a lot of time there if the weather is nice. My parents phone number is 928-226-0594 and my cell phone is 520-250-8897. We won't have anything to do on the 6th until the evening so that day is good, it is a Friday. Anyway, love to look at your blog, Trevor is so hadsome!
GRASS??!!?! Oh my goodness! Can I come roll in it?! LOL!
That grass looks so awesome! I wish mine was that green. You will be go glad to have a place like that for Trevor to play in. It will make the hot summer much more bearable! :)
congrats on your field of dreams!
Wow! Grass in Tucson. Way to go - I hope it stays alive for you :)
